Sidebar overview for aggregated and efficient preliminary analysis

Overview Sidebar

The “Overview” overview tab found on the right side of the Seo Spider updates in real time during crawling and provides a useful summary on URLs and overall data for each tab and filter.

  • Summary: corresponds to the summary of URLs encountered during the scan.
  • SEO Elements (Crawl Data): defines in absolute and percentage terms the number of URLs found for each top-level tab and respective filter. It allows you a very useful first aggregate analysis to immediately highlight the different areas on which you need optimization without having to click individually within the tabs and filters.
Also indicated as a shortcut for finding the source of critical issues, you will just click on the individual items to open the dedicated tab on the left side of the Seo Spider.

Site Structure

The Search Engine is very advanced and autonomously reaches all the resources on your website by following internal links, but at the same time, good site architecture allows the Spider and users to have a more satisfactory browsing experience. The logical structure of a site along with the definition of “Search Intent” allows for significant organic ranking benefits, and this sheet becomes a formidable starting point to better optimize your project.

At the top you can view in real time the path, total number of URLs, indexable and non-indexable URLs in each path of the website.

  • Path: shows the path to the URL of the scanned website.
  • URL: the total number of unique URLs found within the path.
  • Indexable: the total number of indexable URLs found within the path.
  • Non-Indexable: shows the total number of non-indexable URLs found within the path.
  • For a more judicious view, you can adjust the “view” of the Site Structure by alternately evaluating the “Indexability Status,” “Response Codes,” and “Crawl Depth” of URLs in each path or choose the level of “crawl depth” by clicking on the “+” or “-” of the “Level” option.

Contextually at the bottom of the sidebar you will find a graph (or table) showing the number of URLs per single scan depth between 1-10+ already filtered by response codes.

  • Depth (Clicks from Start URL): identifies the depth of the page based on the number of clicks required to reach it from the homepage or start page. scanning
  • Number of URLs: displays the number of URLs per single depth.
  • % of Total: shows the number of URLs per single depth level in percentage form.

Response Times

This tab gives you an overview of URL response times during a scan.

  • Response Times: identifies time intervals (in seconds) for downloading URLs.
  • Number of URLs: total number of URLs in a specific response time interval.
  • % of Total: percentage of URLs in a particular response time interval.

This data corresponds to the relationship between the time it takes to issue an HTTP request and get the full HTTP response from the server.

Please note: This data may be affected by server load and client network activity at the time of the request.

The “Response Times” given by the Seo Spider does not include the time taken to download additional resources when in “JavaScript Rendered” mode. Each resource will appear with its individual response time.

For complete performance analysis, I recommend integration to the PageSpeed Insights API.

Set of errors and alerts divided into macro areas by Screaming Frog and aggregated by topic. This section also indicates the priority for action based on the Seo Spider staff’s assessments. I personally find it interesting as a first approach but it needs more in-depth analysis to draw the correct conclusions during the Seo Audit.

This section of the sidebar will show the segments (set of URLs aggregated according to rules defined by us); very useful for a first view on the areas that have a more significant number of errors.

If you have connected the Seo Spider to Google Analytics, Search Console, Majestic, Ahrefs or Moz APIs with this tab you view the progress of data collection from all APIs along with individual error counts.

Spelling & Grammar

The “Spelling & Grammar” tab gives you an overview of the top 100 grammatical or spelling errors discovered during scanning and the number of URLs affected.

Very useful at first analysis stage to unearth errors in templates.
